ICT: Season 2

Another quarter has passed and yet again, new knowledge has been acquired. This quarter’s topic was fun at most but sometimes also quite difficult, especially with all the rules and tags to keep in mind. In addition, we still continued posting blogs this quarter. I must admit, it is fun and fulfilling to see long we’ve been keeping this up.

As of the challenges and problems, well, there are already a lot of problems in the traditional face-to-face classes, so what more on modular distance learning? To name a few that I have personally encountered, is first and foremost, the slow, unstable and often no internet connection. This is really a pain in the ass because most of the activities require internet. Second, some lessons are hard to comprehend. At most, it takes me 2 to 3 times reading it before actually understanding. Third, some instructions are vague, unclear and at times misleading. This is very troublesome; I sometimes end up arguing with a classmate on whether who is right or not.

Just as the responsible and independent student that I am, I have to deal with these challenges. To start off, since I have no control over the internet connection that is entirely on the service provider’s account. Kidding aside, mobile data was available and thankfully that was enough. As for the other problems, I simply took a quick break to refresh my mind and then got back to work on my modules. This technique really helps me especially when I’m on the verge of having a breakdown.

After all that fun but also excruciating long quarter, we can all agree that we deserve a break, don’t you think? Well, if you ask me, I wouldn’t want to start the next quarter already feeling drained. Also, with all the all-nighters many of the students pulled off, I believe it’s just right and healthy to have a quick break before the next quarter comes.

Moving on, I only hope that topics will not be overly complicated to understand, given the fact that students learn by ‘self-studying’ now. Nevertheless, I will continue to thrive and learn amid the pandemic.
